イギリスからの便り

イギリスにおいても感染が広がるコロナウイルスです。

（感染者数70276人、死亡数8958人　4/12時点）

でも、少し減少に転じており、心配されたジョンソン首相もICUを出られ、少し歩けるようになられたとかで、国民にとっては朗報なことでしょう。

彼女のメールはcannotの表現が多く、日本の自粛要請事項がイギリスでは罰則ルールになっていることが分かります。

日本はこのまま「自粛要請」で感染は減っていくのか、、、

そうあって欲しいと願うばかりです。

ロンドンから電車で約1時間ぐらいのところに住む、私の友人のイギリス人夫妻からメールが届きました。

イギリス人はどのような思いで、どのように暮らしているのか、一部ご紹介させていただきますので、何かのご参考人されてください。（4月7日のメールです）

　We have not been out, apart from a walk, which we are allowed to do, since last

Tuesday, when we shopped in our local shop.  We will not be shopping again, all our food is now delivered.

(先週の火曜日に地元のお店へ買い物に行ってから、ずっと家にいます。ウオーキング以外の外出は禁止されてますので。でも、もう買い物にも行くこともないでしょう。今は食料品は全て、デリバリーにしましたから。）

Boris Johnson is now in intensive care - a great shock to the country and the government. 

Abe has been a bit late in declaring a state of emergency and I see that Tokyo residents are all wanting to leave Tokyo

 （ボリス　ジョンソンがICUに入ったことは、国民と政府にとって、とってもショッキングでした。安倍首相が緊急事態宣言を出しましたが、ちょっと遅すぎたと思います。また、

東京に住んでる人達は、皆さん東京を出たいと思われてることでしょう。）

The British People - we have been given these instructions - in newspapers, on TV, and on mobiles ets.   Stay At Home  Protect the NHS  Save lives.

We can now only Shop for food and medicine, take a daily walk locally, always be 2 metres away from anyone else.

（私達イギリス人には新聞、テレビ、スマホ等を通して、次のようにするよう、指示が出されてます。

　＊家にいる、＊NHS（国営医療サービス）を守る、＊命を救う

そのために私達に許されていることは、＊食料品や薬を買いに出かけること、＊地元でのウオーキング、＊人と常に２ｍ離れること） 

  Families in the same house need to stay together, but cannot visit members

of their family who live in a different house. 

The police now have powers to fine or arrest people in public places not adhering to these rules.   But basically the streets are empty of people. There is far less traffic on the road, railways and busses are almost empty. Gatwick airport has closed.

(また、同居家族は一緒にいるように、でも別に住んでいる家族を訪問することは駄目です。

公共の場で、以上のような規則に従わない人が警察に見つかったら、罰金を科せられたり、身柄拘束されたりします。でも、だいたい通りは空っぽです。交通量も以前と比べたらずっと少ないです。電車もバスもほとんど空っぽです。ガトウィック空港も閉鎖されています）

The government is now worried because the weather is now getting much warmer and it is easter this weekend - they worry that people will start going out a lot more.

(暖かくなっているのと、イースターも近いので、外出する人が急増するのではないかと、政府は心配しています）

 Every Thursday evening at 8 pm the public clap the NHS from their window, their

front gardens etc. It has become a country wide event.

（毎週木曜の夜８：００にはNHS（国営健康サービス）の貢献をたたえるために、皆が窓辺に出て、あるいは庭に出たりして拍手をします。これは今や国民的な行事となりました。）

 Every day between 4 - 6 pm there is a Government News programme on TV telling

us the progress being made. It was Johnson in charge now it is his deputy and they also have people like the country's Chief Medical Officer (who has recovered from the virus), and various other top experts.

(毎日午後4時から6時までの間に、状況の進捗状況についての政府放送がテレビであります。ICUに入ったジョンソン首相の代理で、副総理や主席医務官、ウイルス専門家のトップ等が放送に出ています。） 

Every day my  husband and I go in the garden at 12 noon to look at the flowers and celebrate the fact we have no symptoms.  We do it again before dinner in the evening. 

(夫と私は毎日正午になると庭に出て花を見ながら、お互いに何のウイルス症状がなくて無事であるのを、お祝いしています。夕食の前にも同じことをしています）
